The face time you get with those people is invaluable. Networking and all that. Make the most of it, it’s a good opportunity!
Yeah, that is true.
And if I get in a tight spot, I’ll just ask myself: what would Brian Boitano do?
Perfect opportunity to pull yourself up by having contacts in the C-level. Take advantage of it! 🙂
So, any tips on schmoozing? I’m schmooze impaired.
Why bother schmoozing? Any CEO, CFO, etc. that doesn’t take the time to speak to the "grunts" is obviously out of touch with his company and doesn’t care about his employees.
My advice: do a little chit-chat with them but don’t schmooze. And try to get them to talk about something else besides business.

I had a thought about this at lunch as well. These are relatively large companies that will be represented. I’d be fooling myself if I thought that a CEO would give 2 squats about the web designer…
Think about it. These are companies that have full HR departments and people are hired almost every day… what would a CEO of a company like that be doing considering a web designer? That’s why he has an HR department. I’m just gonna keep my head down and hope it all goes by quickly.
Gippy, don’t you want me an entrepreneur?
Sure I do – but this won’t be the place…
Is crabby cakes azcrab?
You checkin’ to see if it’s ok for him to use the word ‘gay’ like that?
